Victor Rice
As a musician, producer and engineer, Victor Rice has been working in studios since 1982. After six years of study as an orchestral bassist at Manhattan School of Music (BM, MM Degrees), he began his career in NYC in the ‘90s in the Ska and Reggae scene.
Rice had already produced over a dozen records using only analog tape before working in post-production for television as a mix engineer and composer in 1999.
He would use his first computer at age 31. In 2002 Victor realised his dream and migrated to São Paulo, Brazil. Since then, he has been working with artists from a much wider variety of genres. He continues to make records while touring Europe extensively. In 2010 he completed his own mix room at the COPAN building in downtown São Paulo and has, ever since, been working from there with an international list of clients. In 2015 and 2016, records mixed by Rice won Latin Grammys (Tulipa Ruíz and Elza Soares, respectively).
